Ben is a Certified Spinning® Instructor (AFAA, ACE, NASM and CPD) and lives for three things: Sweating, making you sweat and making mixtapes. Once this became clear, we thought he was an ideal fit for the SBH team. That and the fact that he spent years powering through with some of NYC's most intense spin instructors. Now that he's back in LA, he's determined to make you do the same. With an emphasis on proper form and High Intensity Interval Training, his classes are designed to help you blast past your personal goals and get the shred you're seeking. Ben believes the ride is a true form of meditation -- and that once you shed the day, dig in and push yourself, you can leave with a very real sense of personal empowerment. (Also, his deftly-curated class mixtapes are the absolute jam.)

Sonya began her journey with fitness while in her teens, finding exercise not only to be an answer to her struggle with weight but also an answer to handling the challenges and stresses of everyday life with greater ease. Her passion for sharing this with others is what inspired her to become an instructor. Combined with a background in music and her genuine love for all things cardio, finding her way to the energetic and rhythmic world of spin simply felt like the next step in her fitness evolution. For her, exercise is part meditation, part fun, and part duty. Sonya hopes to inspire students to stay dedicated to their own personal self care and self love!

Lara became a certified Spinning® instructor in 2005 in her hometown of Austin, Texas, after becoming hooked on spinning classes and the physical and mental benefits it provides. Having always been passionate about health and fitness, she studied exercise physiology in college, worked as a personal trainer and went on to receive a Nutrition degree from Texas State. She incorporates interval training, strength, and endurance elements to increase overall fitness levels while blasting her favorite EDM beats, with some occasional rock. She will take music requests under serious consideration. Lara invites you to a challenging and fun workout in a positive and encouraging environment.

His passion for music and how music can make you feel, is the catalyst that allows him to create dynamic playlists that will keep you motivated and reaching for your potential as you sweat it out during class. Often described as "chill", Hector will guide you through proper form encouraging you to take control of your ride by putting in the effort to match the results you wish to see!

An east coast native, Ashley found her passion for wellness during college, where she began teaching group exercise in 2004 and made health education her career path.  In 2016, she landed in LA and hasn’t looked back!  Ashley loves seeing people realize that they can achieve their goals, and providing the tools to help them build their happiest, healthiest life! Ashley loves to be outdoors, hit live shows, cook delicious food, and explore the world with her dog, Jackie.  She brings this adventurous spirit into every ride, highlighting a variety of genres in her mixes and always encouraging each rider to connect with and respect their body, on and off the bike!

Maddy is a Los Angeles native, who grew up with a love for athleticism. As an actress and former competitive cheerleader, she treats each ride as a challenge and a performance. Bringing her high intensity energy to the bike, she encourages you to connect with the rhythm and push past your limits. From old school jams to the latest remixes, expect dance party playlists in every class. Maddy wants you to leave her class feeling strong, and inspired to take on anything...(especially an almond milk latte after your ride.)

However, it wasn’t until she discovered spinning that she truly fell in love with working out. Inspired by the euphoria after a great workout she decided to become an ACE certified personal trainer and spin instructor to help others find joy in exercising. Don’t let this shorty fool you, she’s a feisty one and ready to push you past your limits. Hop on a bike with her to discover just how strong you are and leave with a little sweat, a lot of confidence, and a huge smile!

Ruben has been teaching Spinning® classes since August of 2000. His passion for teaching classes came from his own personal challenges with weight. Moving to San Francisco in 1994 was a pivotal point for him. Through diet and exercise and healthy living habits, he was able to successfully take off the excess weight. With that challenge, his love for fitness was born. He realized that if he could do it, anyone could. It is still a mantra that he lives by today. While in the Bay Area, he was also a DJ at a high volume club. He takes his love for music and his love for coaching and brings you his best every time.  Ruben has the ability to create classes that are not only challenging, but fun and inspirational at the same time. He is pleased to welcome everyone to the studio. After all, we all truly amazing and have the power to achieve great things!

Two years ago, Liz earned her yoga certification and also teaches a weekly yoga and mindfulness class for children. Liz views spinning as a form of moving meditation and her goal is to have everyone leave her class feeling strong, inspired, and smiling!
